Operations Control Panel - Overview
Aug-24 - OCP (Operations Control Panel) is a PowerBI dashboard that feeds on parameters and plan vs actual operation data to generate visuals & KPIs across voyages.
In this video, you get to see an overview of its entire structure and function.
Files
Aug-24 - In this video, we have a glimpse of all the files within the OCP structure. Aside from the powerbi file itself (The Dashboard), the solution also has 5 Excel files whose data feeds our Dashboard.
Updating Data & Refreshing Dashboard
Aug-24 - Since the Operations Control Panel is a dynamic dashboard, the information it present changes always when the excel sheets are updated.
In this video we see how we can Refresh our dashboard view by updating the data in our excel sheets and triggering PowerBI to read the files again.
Replication
Aug-24 - The OCP can exist across multiple instances with different vessels and voyages.
In this video we learn how to use our current instance to make a new one.
Voy Registry & Radar
Aug-24 - The Operations Control Panel dashboard feeds on plan vs actual operation data as well as parameters that define the vessel and ports for that specific instance or voyage.
The Radar is a Latitude and Longitude repository in which we enter the vessel current position so this information is displayed on the Dashboard Map.
Changing Data Source
Aug-24 - Once we have replicated an existing instance of the Operations Control Panel, the replicated PowerBI file remains connected to the Excel files mapped in the copied instance. In this video we learn how to update these paths so the new instance feeds on the Voy Registry that was replicated along with the powerbi file and TimeTable belonging to the vessel that is going to tracked in the replicated instance.
